Let's begin the magnificent age of Geumcheon!
Hello everyone. I'm Yoo Seong-hoon,
the 8th popularly elected Head of Geumcheon-gu Office.
From olden times, Geumcheon has been one of the starting points, as well as the gate, of Seoul.
Surrounded by nature, with the Anyangcheon Stream flowing to the west and Hoamsam Mountain in the east,
this historic and beautiful area is also the location of the Hoamsanseong Fortress, King Jeongjo's Temporary Palace, the Millenary Gingko, and many more such sites.
And modern-day Geumcheon day, as the hinterland of the Guro Industrial Complex, has been leading the industrial development of Seoul and Korea.
Now, Geumcheon is about to undertake a new evolution.

- Earlier completion of the construction for ofthe Shinansan Subway Line and a large general hospital, the development of Geumcheon-gu Office Station building, and the development at of the air force base site after its relocation
- Balanced development in the west and east regions, displayed aggressive support for urban and residential environmental projects, and improved road and transportation systems
- Geumcheon, the city of history, culture, and education for the future (education & culture)

- Built an educational support system focused on public education, advanced education for career development, and educational transition, Geumcheon has expanded the '4 Experience Schools ' program
- Early kick-off of the construction of the Seo-Seoul Museum of Art , built a space for cultural governance, spread the established history and culture of the Hoamsanseong Fortress, and improved daily sports culture
- Geumcheon, closer to you (welfare & health)

- Established the Geumcheon Welfare Foundation, programs including the 'Single Person Household Only Project’,' 'Safe-assuring Package for Women’,' 'Geumcheon Youth 2.0’,' and more
- Increased health infrastructure (3 branches per health center) , establishing a public health and medical system, expanded projects of support and health management for patients suffering from chronic diseases
- Geumcheon for justice and benefits (innovations in the economy and public administration)

- Founded the 'Local Economy Support Center,' created a special commerce street (by via outsourcing), a school for Business Startup and Career Transition, and Next Profession Experience Hall
- Established a 'Happy Center' (Town-Energizing Office) at each dong, reinforced resident councils, increased convenient facilities for public administration, and an On-site Office of Gu-head
- Geumcheon, a sustainable city for families and the environment (families & the environment)

- Built a 'Geumcheon Family Center,' instituted more intensive childcare policies, increased Kiwoom Centers (after-school childcare center) and Geumcheon-type care facilities, created a culture for companion animals and their owners
- Built infrastructure for green zones, relocated of the Doksan Recycling Center , supported for civil Net Zero activities
In this term, as the 8th popularly-elected local government head, I'll keep making efforts to achieve the happiness of the Gemcheon-gu people.
Geumcheon’s unrelenting development to advance forward! I'll bring the forward the magnificent age of Geumcheon!
To always be by your side, embracing those at the bottom, and aiming for higher places, I'll be a reliable head for Geumcheon-gu.
